AC blowing warm air

While refrigerant is essential to your AC system, it’s also a health hazard if it escapes your AC unit. Common signs of a refrigerant leak include AC not cooling properly, ice buildup on your AC, or liquid pooling on or around the unit. You may also notice a slightly sweet, chemical smell. AC short cycling

A normal air conditioner operates on a cooling cycle. This typically means the AC turns on for about 10 to 15 minutes, then shuts off for another 10 to 15 minutes. However, if there’s a problem with your AC, it may turn on and off in rapid succession in a process known as AC short cycling. If you notice your AC turning on for just a minute or two before it shuts off again, it’s likely short-cycling.

While short cycling may be caused by a damaged part or an electrical issue, it may also be the result of an air conditioner that’s the wrong size for your home. When your AC is too large or too small for your space, it will struggle to cool properly and may turn on and off too quickly. Frozen evaporator coils

Air conditioners usually produce a low, consistent humming sound during the on cycle. However, a broken AC may produce a wide range of unusual sounds including bumping, whining, clanking, and other loud noises. Bad smells
